Sustainable solutions for urgent future issues
KIT focuses its major research fields on the long-term challenges facing society across a wide range of subjects in natural sciences, engineering and economics, the humanities and social sciences. Energy, mobility and information are traditionally strong at KIT – their seamless integration is essential for the success of the energy transition, for example. Doctoral candidates at KIT conduct autonomous research at an early stage, and receive various types of support, e.g. through the Karlsruhe House of Young Scientists, a central facility at KIT for fostering early career researchers.
