Thanks to its unique course offerings and exceptional research activities, Ostwestfalen-Lippe University of Applied Sciences has developed a reputation extending beyond its region. Research

Achievements such as gaining the first Fraunhofer Application Center at a university of applied sciences, participation in the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research's Leading Edge Cluster “it's OWL”, two successful proposals in the Ministry's “Quality of Teaching Pact” have generated high visibility in the region. Three core research areas are listed in the German Rectors’ Conference (HRK) research map: Industrial Information Technologies, Food Technology and Intelligent Energy Systems.
