Excellence in research
Mannheim University of Applied Sciences is one of the most active research universities of applied sciences, and has topped the rankings for years with the largest number of cooperative doctorates. Research teams help to improve user experience for IT products, investigate topics from friction and wear to optimisation of surfaces, develop procedures for cancer research with the Medical Faculty Mannheim at the University of Heidelberg in the joint Institute for Medical Technology, develop techniques for sustainable energy production, and research intelligent sensors for measurement devices. Since 2016, it has been one of the ten universities for applied research in Germany with special excellence in research.
