The Westphalian University of Applied Sciences was founded a quarter of a century ago. As a public university of applied sciences, we see it as our mission to provide applied training to young people at our locations in Gelsenkirchen, Bocholt and Recklinghausen, thereby providing a solid foundation for the next generation of qualified academic specialists in the region.

Research
When it comes to research, we serve as a partner to the region. The diversity of our topics is a central tenet of our research activities. We will continue to nurture this diversity, and at the same time to develop profile core research areas addressing important social challenges.
