Creating knowledge. Since 1502
Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg (MLU) is the largest and oldest university in Saxony-Anhalt. It has been home to research for over 500 years. Buildings rich in tradition, such as those on University Square or in the Francke Foundations, contrast with modern laboratories, e.g. on the Weinberg Campus, the second-largest technology park in eastern Germany. This is where the university collaborates with renowned research institutes such as the Max Planck Society and the Fraunhofer Society. The Heide-Süd Medicine Campus is right next door. The Steintor Campus, inaugurated in 2015, which combines the sites for humanities and social sciences, is brand new.
