The Technische Universität Dresden (TU Dresden) is one of the oldest technical academic institutions of education in Germany. It is organised in 14 faculties, which are divided into five schools.

The funding of endowed chairs at TU Dresden is a particular sign of the university's high standing with industry. For the university, these professorships are a means to teaching and research appropriate to the needs of professional practice. At present, TU Dresden has ten endowed chairs.

TU Dresden’s Graduate Academy supports doctoral candidates and post-doctoral researchers on their academic path with a special training and fellowship programme.
