Quick profile*
Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences is an educational institution with firm roots in its region and a reputation that has spread across Germany. The university is distributed over three campuses: Krefeld South, Krefeld West and Mönchengladbach. For over 30 years, Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences has offered a dual (work-study) mode of study based on the Krefeld model. Under this model, students undertake a bachelor's degree in parallel with on-the-job training. After eight semesters, they have not only earned a bachelor's degree, but also a vocational qualification. A “trainee course” has also been offered since the 2015/2016 winter semester. This is a dual programme with a difference: vocational training in parallel with employment is replaced by regular practical phases in a company.
