Braunschweig College of Fine Arts is a globally focused arts and research university of applied sciences entitled to confer doctorates and habilitations. Its renowned range of subjects, courses of study and research in art, design and scholarship is unique. Academic research and artistic development

Braunschweig College of Fine Arts is an art college at the university level. Photography and sound art are currently defined as core research areas. Artistic development and academic research are supported through targeted funding. The Executive Committee has set up a research pool for this purpose, from which funds for personnel, material and production costs, publications and exhibition catalogues are provided.

Braunschweig College of Fine Arts supports early career researchers by establishing budget-funded positions for research assistants with realistic prospects of gaining qualifications (doctorate).

The scholarship programme Braunschweig PROJECTS and the Dorothea-Erxleben Programme support emerging artists at the Braunschweig College of Fine Arts.
