Recognised top-level research
In 1978, the Hanover College of Music and Drama was the first music university in Germany to be granted the entitlement to confer doctorates and habilitations. Today, it has a strong artistic and academic profile, from which all its courses benefit. The Institutes of Journalism and Communications Research, Music and Gender, Music Physiology and Musician's Medicine, of Musicology and for Music Education Research and the European Centre for Jewish Music showcase the college’s strong research capabilities.
