The Technische Universität Braunschweig is the academic heart of Braunschweig, a “City of Science” with a rich tradition. The university is located in the midst in one of the most active research regions in Europe. The full range of engineering sciences – architecture, civil and environmental engineering, electrical engineering, informatics, mechanical engineering and associated natural sciences are the core disciplines. Business and social sciences, the humanities and education sciences are also on offer.

Research in cross-disciplinary centres

Lightweight production cars with low fuel consumption, low-noise, low-emission aeroplanes, active ingredients to fight infectious diseases, personalised medicines, measurement techniques for nanotechnology or strategies for the city of the future – these are some of the research activities through which the Technische Universität Braunschweig is contributing to overcoming the challenges facing society. Numerous cross-disciplinary research centres have been established for this purpose in cooperation with non-university institutions and industry.
