The fields of security, order and conflict, language dynamics, physics and chemistry of semiconductor interfaces, cognitive and applied neurosciences and biosciences and medicine, including a large number of intersections between disciplines, have developed as core research areas.
Philipps-Universität has excellent international networks, maintaining a large number of cooperation arrangements with universities both within Europe and beyond. The alliance “Research Campus of Central Hessen” was established by Philipps-Universität Marburg, together with Justus Liebig University Giessen and the Technical University of Applied Sciences Mittelhessen, at the end of 2016 to advance the reputation of Central Hesse for top-level research.
