Green core research areas

The university’s core research areas provide a specific response to current environmental and socio-political challenges. They include themes such as sustainability, the energy transition, climate change, healthy and personalised nutrition, demographic change, environmental protection and sustainable use of existing resources.

• Land use and nutrition (research on the entire food production value creation chain, from production of raw materials to the end consumer)
• Regrowing raw materials and renewable energies (research focusing on bioenergy)
• Technological impact assessment and precautionary environmental planning (research on the evaluation of land uses, their intensity and cultivation/use methods with respect to their effects on the natural and landscape ecosystem and climate relevance)
